Alison Head
powerfully delicate and uniquely confident

grandios!

Extravagant, highly-contrasted and finely detailed, Alison Head finds her own way to redefine the Didone

Inspired by Altona’s flair, Alison picks up a hundred years on to combine historic finesse with modern refinement. Alison is an emancipated evolution of the Didone: powerful and expressive. This attitude is most evident in the vertical serifs. Creating a distinct and characteristic image, they enrich the soft strokes and familiar teardrop terminals with a new sharpness. In this way, Alison confidently breaks new ground.

Alison’s serifs lightly curved serifs give a crisp presence on the page and individual details, like the calligraphic twist to z, k, and y add to her charisma.

Elegant corporate design, cosmopolitan law firm, edgy fashion label or premium brand - Alison Head is ready for anyone who wants to use bold, modern typography.

In addition to all the usual TypeMates OpenType features and stylistic sets, Alison comes with small caps. With slimmer serifs and other details, Stylistic Set 01 gives Alison a fresher, sharper feel. Another eye-catching feature is Stylistic Set 10’s stacked ‘nut’ fractions.

Alison goes one step further: over 60 different gender symbols offer a fresh, political perspective and typographic recognition of modern diversity – even if the official Unicode standard’s still to catch up.

Alison Head is not alone. Her sister, Alison Text, applies the same spirit to a robust and reliable text typeface.
