The geometric Grotesk is available in two optical sizes: Grato Grotesk is geared for branding and identity design in larger sizes and purer geometry. If you need less geometry and more legibility, Gratimo Grotesk is engineered for text and interface design.

Grato Grotesk is the modernist of the Geometric Suite. A resolute typeface with flat apexes and no-nonsense angled terminals, it combines a clean, contemporary aesthetic with idiosyncrasy and warmth.
Grato is shaped by pure forms, low stroke modulation and square dots that contrast with almost perfect circles. Grato Grotesk takes that core and pursues the industrial logic of early German geometric typefaces. The result is a typeface of quirks and clarity, a substantial family for identity and editorial work.
With a spectrum of nine weights, from fine Hairlines to super heavy Blacks, Grato can organise complex typographic hierarchies with ease.
Gratimo Grotesk is an utilitarian family purpose-built for everyday use, a powerful workhorse that combines elementary shapes and precise construction.
Where Grato Grotesk revels in pure geometry, Gratimo Grotesk has a practical focus. With a robust x-height, open apertures and generous spacing, its more restrained forms were the result of Grato being redrawn for reading. The result is a neo-grotesque that draws on American Gothics from the early 20th century and makes something fresh.
An allrounder specialising in smaller reading sizes and lower resolutions, Gratimo Grotesk is suitable for user interfaces and longform writing. With a compact texture, it is efficient, robust and ready to work at any size.
For serious typography, Gratimo comes equipped with six weights, from Thin to sturdy Black. For greater distinction, it has matching italics.

Our Desktop+Web Licence enables you to use our fonts on a computer and embedded on a webpage. When you want to embed the font in apps or eBooks the Smart Embedding Licence is your choice. All licences are unlimited in time after a onetime payment scaled to the size of usage — measured at number of users, pageviews per month, embedding projects of applications or number of servers used.
Modern graphic design almost always involves design for print and screen — and that is why we came up with a licence that includes both desktop and web uses. Now you can install the fonts on your computer, use them in all your programmes (Microsoft office, Adobe software…) and at the same time you can embed the included WebFonts through @font-face technology in the corresponding web project.

You are allowed to install the fonts on your computer and embed them on websites via @font-face and make perpetual usage of the fonts.
You will be charged once, with the price based on the number of users and/or estimated pageviews per month that you require. Pageviews are time based, are not limited by geography, but pageviews must be for pages that belong to the same organisation/agency and all domains and sub-domains must belong to the licencee.
The use of this font is limited to the number of users and the number of pageviews detailed on the invoice you received with the purchase of the font. If you increase the number of users or pageviews beyond the number detailed on the invoice, you will lose the right to continue to use the fonts until you update your license to include additional users or pageviews.
You may embed the fonts in static documents (e.g. PDFs). However, you have to take care they are securely embedded (in read/print-only mode), ensuring the recipient cannot extract the fonts.
You may not convert the fonts to other font formats, nor may you modify, decompile or instruct a third party to convert, modify or decompile them. Nevertheless, you are allowed to subset our WebFonts.
You may make a back-up copy on a second computer. Registered users of www.typemates.com are, through their account, able to download fonts they have licenced at any time.
This licence is not transferable. In the event that you do not want to use the font, you may not give your rights of use or licence to a third party and you cannot sell, nor sub-licence the font licence or fonts.
You may not give the fonts to a person who does not own a licence for the font. (In special cases the fonts may be given to a printer, but they have to accept the licence and delete/uninstall the fonts after finishing the job)
You may not embed the fonts into an app, or eBook without a Smart Embedding licence. Contact us, or just purchase one directly in our shop.
You may not embed the fonts into hardware (for example: the displays of washing machines, toasters, or devices like a GPS navigator, eReader). To do that, you will need a custom licence and should contact us.
If the yearly net profit of the licencee exceeds EUR 15 million the licencee is not allowed to use our fonts in their logo, in television broadcasts, cinema movies or in internet streams. Furthermore the licencee may not use our fonts for products that reproduce letter shapes like, for example, house numbers, stamps, craft templates or punched letters. Usage of this sort requires an enlarged and customised licence and, if you are in doubt, contact us for more information.
Warranty and limitation of liability
TypeMates fonts can be returned or replaced only if they are defective. Defective fonts will be replaced if you have a valid proof of purchase and inform us about the error within 30 days of purchase. This warranty does not apply to font data that has been converted, manipulated or altered by you.
If not caused by gross negligence or malicious intent by us, TypeMates shall not be liable for any consequences, property or legal responsibility — including, but not limited to, lost profits and/or lost data — as a consequence of using our fonts.
Termination
Any violation of this agreement by you, the licensee, will terminate this license. In case of termination, you are obligated to immediately remove all our fonts and all copies from your system and certify this to us, the licensor.
Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. This Agreement shall not be subject to the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods, the application of which is expressly excluded.
The court of jurisdiction is in Passau, Germany.
Miscellaneous
TypeMates reserves the right to modify this license at any time without notice. However, it will not restrict your previously purchased rights within the license.
Should a regulation of this contract be invalid in whole or part, the validity of other regulations shall remain unaffected.

Whether it’s an iOS application, Android or ePub: our Smart Embedding licence allows you to embed the fonts in any application (e.g. App, eBook or SmartWatch), as long as it’s part of the same project and will not exceed the limits of the licence.
In addition to the Smart Embedding licence, we will give you one User Desktop Licence to test the fonts during the pre-coding design process.

If your work sells way better than expected and there are more projects to design with our font than detailed on the invoice, you will lose the right to continue to use the fonts until you update your license to include additional embed projects.
You may install the fonts on one computer to use and test it in your layouts and to make mockups of your application. If you want to use the font for other projects on your computer, you will need to purchase a proper Desktop+Web licence.

Automation saves time and money, so this licence will cost a bit more compared to a Desktop+Web licence for humans. The Server licence allows you to install our fonts on a server to automatically generate invoices, business cards, PDF documents or other personalised products. With this license html5 campaigns are possible.
